Hi there! I could be a great fit for your student because I have had over 3 years of experience tutoring ages Pre-K to seniors in High School. My transcripts show a stellar performance throughout my time at George Steinbrenner High School. Furthermore, many of my classes were advanced placement and reflect substantial knowledge of the subjects. I am currently a student at the University of South Florida which has enabled me to further solidify my knowledge. I also have experience working with kids and adolescents in other instances such as volunteering at youth groups and babysitting! I am responsible, kind and resourceful which is key when working with students. Looking forward to meeting you!

Hello! I would love to help your student(s) succeed in school and give them study tips that will be useful throughout their lives. I have 2 years of experience tutoring students in grades K-12, and I have 5+ years of experience working with kids and adolescents. I graduated one year early from Harrisburg High School with an exceptional GPA and above-average ACT scores, and I took advanced courses throughout middle school and high school. Currently, I am a junior at the University of South Florida, where I study Digital Marketing and I belong to the American Marketing Association. I am patient and kind, while also focused and dependable. I believe that I can demonstrate this to your student(s) and assist them in flourishing academically. A little about me: I am originally from Sioux Falls, SD, but I am not a fan of the cold weather, so shortly after high school I moved to Tampa, FL. My favorite aspects of Tampa are the year-round warmth and the nearby beaches. My interests include reading, painting, and outdoor activities such as skydiving or hiking. My favorite subject to learn and tutor is English/Reading. I love to see students grow their intelligence through books and texts, and I enjoy helping students find a personal love for reading. "Reading should not be presented to children as a chore, a duty. It should be offered as a gift." – Kate DiCamillo

In high school, I was a Kumon tutor, Spanish tutor, and geometry tutor. At the University of South Florida, I am a tutor for underclass engineering majors for their classes in Calculus (I and II) and Chemistry. Chemistry is my specialty as I am graduating with a bachelors in chemistry at USF this May and starting my PhD in the fall (haven't decided which university yet). I tutor General Chemistry (I and II), Organic Chemistry (I and II), and although I haven’t tutored inorganic, analytical, or physical chemistry to other students, I am confident in my ability to tutor these subjects. For Spanish, I received a 7/7 for the IB exam. I got a perfect score for ACT reading. I excelled in my French courses as it is a language I’ve been studying independently for the past six years. I love taking my dog on trails and am so glad the weather in Tampa is always nice for that! I know you can trust me as a tutor as I provide supplementary videos I prepare myself and extra practice problems with answer explanations.

My goal is to help you truly understand math and statistics, not just memorize formulas. I studied Computational & Systems Biology at UCLA and later earned my Master’s in Information and Data Science from UC Berkeley. I’ve also worked professionally as a Data Scientist, where I use probability, inference, and statistical modeling every day. As a tutor, I focus on building intuition first, then teaching step-by-step methods. I use diagrams, examples, and simple explanations so students grasp why a concept works — not just follow procedures. Students often tell me that confusing ideas “finally make sense” after we walk through them together. Subjects I tutor: AP Statistics • College Statistics • Algebra II • Precalculus • Probability • Regression • Python for Data • Intro Data Science Because of my real-world experience in analytics and machine learning, I can connect topics like regression, distributions, and hypothesis testing to practical uses — which helps students understand the big picture quickly. I’m patient, supportive, and adjust my teaching to each student’s level. Whether you're preparing for the AP exam, improving your grade, or catching up on missed concepts, I’ll help you build confidence and clarity step-by-step. Most students see improvement within just a few weeks of consistent sessions. If you’re feeling stuck, I’d be happy to help clarify. In my free time, I enjoy running and going to the gym — but supporting students is the most rewarding.

I'm a professional math tutor and teacher with over a decade of experience in tutoring students of all ages and subjects in math. In my most recent role as an associate professor in mathematics, I've taught courses in algebra, statistics, calculus, and precal to college and high school students. I have a doctorate degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. My passion in education focuses on helping student to think critically while learning the material. My strongest personal characteristics in tutoring are that I'm good with children and adults with anxiety or attention deficit disorder, patient with the student, and encouraging. There are objectives that I have when tutoring the student: explaining the material so that the student understands it, building self-confidence in the student's ability to solve problems, and helping the student enjoy the learning process. I often incorporate relevant history of the topic in order to grab the student's interest. For example, René Descartes introduced the Cartesian plane. Legend has it that Descartes discovered this coordinate system when lying in his bed and watching a bug move across the ceiling. He became motivated to describe the movement of that bug -- hence the Cartesian plane. I use a hands-on approach to guide the student in his/her discovery of Descartes revelation.

I have 8 years of experience tutoring students K-12, as well as college students. I have assisted individuals with varying needs and levels of understanding in math. This includes students with special needs such as ADHD and Autism. I pride myself in being very thorough and patient in my tutoring approach when it comes to the learning process of other people. I take the time to help family and friends even when I am not getting paid. Ever since I was 13, I've always been helping my fellow students excel in math topics. Partially because I was good at it, but more importantly I understood how difficult it was for some students to grasp the advanced topics of mathematics. This is why I love tutoring math. Since then, I have worked with multiple different schools in Lake County, Florida including but not limited to: Mount Dora High School, Eustis High School, Tavares Middle School, and Tavares High School. I also worked at Mathnasium for a brief period, tutoring K-12 students. I love working in Lake County because it's close to Orlando. I moved here from Kentucky to further my music career and Central Florida is home to phenomenal venues, gifted musicians, and exciting opportunities for those with a passion for music like myself.

I am a veteran educator with approximately 20 years of experience teaching at every level from PreK to PhD students. I enjoy working with students and being with them for lightbulb moments when they succeed with something they struggled with in the past. I have particular strengths in English and Language Arts (ELA). I have an extensive publication record, including two books, academic articles, as well as poetry in a variety of literary magazines. In 2020 Cayuga Lake Books published my book Rooms In Old Houses, a volume of poetry. In 1999 Scarecrow Press (a member of the Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group) published my earlier book, A Hardware and Software Primer for Librarians, which is a more technical book. More recently, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in PreK-12 education in New York State. That has allowed me to build extensive experience working 1:1 with students who often struggle academically. My variety of experience in tutoring, teaching, and writing allows me to bring a balanced approach to tutoring. I look forward to working with students through Tim’s Tutors.

I have taught math at Ridley High School for 18 years. I teach Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre Calculus and Calculus. I have tutored students for the PSAT and SAT. Before any learning is done I think it is important to build a relationship and to get to know the student. A student must feel safe and understood before they are willing to do work for you. Go math!! I'd describe my personality as energetic, fun, and caring. I like tutoring because you get chance to work with students one-on-one. You see the benefit and growth from individualized instruction. I love watching students grow as they challenge themselves academically. In my spare time, I like to do anything active: run, bike, workout, and go to the gym. One thing you should know about me is I have a wealth of experience teaching students at all levels. I have taught in an accelerated math program for years. I also teach students who need more time, structure, and differentiated instruction.

I’m passionate about helping kids succeed and feel confident in their learning journey. As a certified teacher with 19 years of experience in K-5 education, special education, and supporting English Language Learners (ELL), I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of amazing learners. I love figuring out how each child learns best and tailoring lessons to fit their unique needs. I’ve taught in Central Florida my entire career, working in both Seminole and Orange County Public Schools. Growing up and going to school in this area myself, I feel a deep connection to the community and love giving back by helping local children thrive. Teaching reading and math is especially close to my heart because I enjoy watching kids build their skills and grow more confident as they master new concepts. Outside of the classroom, I’m a mom who cherishes time with my kids. We love creating memories together, and when I’m not teaching or spending time with my family, you’ll often find me in the garden. Gardening is a way I recharge and reflect—it’s so rewarding to see the fruits of hard work grow and flourish, just like with teaching! Every child has their own special way of learning, and I’m here to support, encourage, and celebrate each step of their journey. Let’s work together to make learning a joyful and rewarding experience for your child!

I found tutoring to be really rewarding in the past, and I want to do it again now that I have a reduced course load. My name is Mark Bond. I moved to Florida in 2003 from Mainland China where I was teaching at a local private university in central China (Henan). We had to escape in the dead of night from the university due to the first SARS epidemic in 2003. I wrote a book about it entitled "China in the Age of Sars" available on Amazon. I have lived in Florida ever since. Over the years I have started and ran several businesses and an investment company. Since 2022 I have started 2 Brazilian Jiujitsu schools in the area which are now owned and operated by my assistant coaches. As you can see I am passionate about certain things--chiefly, SELF IMPROVEMENT, EDUCATION, and PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. I love helping people achieve their absolute best version of themselves and have experience teaching, coaching, and facilitating improved performance across a range of subject areas. Personally, I am currently pursuing a Professional Doctorate Degree in Leadership and Organizational Development. I have an earned MBA in Global Management. Additionally, I have a BA in English Literature along with an AA in Humanities. In 2003 I completed TEFL Certification and many years ago I graduated from the US Army's Legal Specialist School at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. I am passionate in my own life about literature, reading, writing, physical fitness, martial arts, Brazilian jiujitsu and playing bass guitar along with studying Mandarin Chinese. These activities provide me a great deal of joy and gratification and I would love to help you find joy and gratification in pursuing some of your own passions.

Dear Students: I am here to help you demystify and solidify your understanding of math, physics, chemistry, or engineering. I have been teaching since 1984. I enjoy helping students to understand these technical subjects. When you succeed, I feel happy. Dear Parents: I work with students from both public and private high schools and also college students. I have taught in the classroom for 38 years, but my specialty is working with individuals one-on-one. I like to help everyone become their best, based on an understanding of the basic principles undergirding each subject. I have successfully taught ages from elementary school through adult, although most of my tutoring experience is with high school and college students. These days almost all of my tutoring is done online, which I enjoy because it connects me with people from all over the country! Outside of school, I enjoy outdoor activities like canoeing, sailing, skiing and hiking. I sing in the choir, and I am heavily involved with theatrical sound and lights. I am certified in Math, Physics and Industrial Technology. I have taught at Thomas Jefferson School, Parkway West and Nerinx Hall in St. Louis, and most recently at the Wooster School in Danbury, CT. (I moved here to be closer to family.) My Bachelor's degree was in Mechanical and Electrical engineering from Swarthmore College. I also have a Masters degree in Teaching. But the biggest source of my education has been interactions with students. My approach to tutoring is to listen to where you’re at, and then guide you to the path of understanding. It’s not hard. You’ll see. We can do it! You will find that I can help you to understand weeks worth of material in a very short time.

There are multiple teaching methods that I use to actively engage students in their own learning such as: carefully planned laboratory experiments, real world investigations, inquiry-based understanding, and performance-based study units. I employ a variety of assessment methods to ensure students are learning including: formative and summative assessments, performance-based assessments, rubric scoring of classroom or cooperative work, and student self-assessments. Based on the results I adjust instructional goals and plans accordingly. As a highly effective science teacher I am just as committed to my own learning as to the learning of my students. Staying current on instructional topics is critical for high quality science teaching. This learning takes place in the form of individual research, reading, and participation in professional development and collaboration with colleagues.

Spanish

¡Hola! my name is Vanessa Salinas, and I've had the joy of teaching Spanish to middle and high school students for over 15 years. My passion for the Spanish language and cultures has fueled my career, and I aim to pass that excitement on to my students, helping them discover the beauty of a new language and the world that comes with it. I believe learning Spanish should be as fun as it is educational. That's why I create engaging lessons that blend language skills with cultural insights, making every class a new adventure. Whether we’re diving into the rhythms of Latin music, exploring the delicious world of Spanish cuisine, or discovering the history and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries, I work to make Spanish feel exciting and accessible. Throughout my years in the classroom, I’ve seen firsthand how learning a second language opens up doors for students—whether it's boosting their confidence, expanding their worldview, or preparing them for future opportunities. My goal is to create a safe and encouraging environment where every student feels empowered to speak, make mistakes, and grow. In addition to teaching grammar and vocabulary, I love incorporating interactive activities such as role-playing, games, and even cooking demos or movie screenings to make learning a hands-on experience. I truly believe that language learning is most effective when students feel comfortable, engaged, and have fun along the way. Let’s embark on this language-learning journey together—I promise it will be as rewarding as it is fun!

I found my love for teaching children when I began working as a sailing instructor in 2016. I grew up racing small sailboats on Long Island Sound and transitioned to teaching as I neared aging out of junior sailing. After graduating high school, I attended the Professional Mariner Program at Orange Coast College Waterfront Campus where I received multiple certifications from the US Coast Guard, US Sailing, and US Powerboating. To incorporate my love of math and science into my sailing lessons, I got certified as a STEM Reach Educator. I have taught sailing to students in Ohio, California, Maine, New York, and Maryland. In 2022, I began volunteering for UnSilenced and met with legislators in Washington DC to advocate for a federal bill SICAA which seeks to create a Bill of Rights for youth living in institutional settings. My volunteer work has led me to appreciate the beauty and meaning in helping those who are struggling in difficult situations. For the past 3 years, I have worked as an academic tutor for middle and high schoolers with social/emotional issues and continue to sail on my own time.

I am a professional math and writing tutor with around 8 years of experience working as both a private and contracted tutor of several companies. I have worked in aspects of advising and administrative functions beyond tutoring as well. My tutoring capabilities concern k-12 grade for math and k-12 as well as collegiate level practices for writing. I have attended both the University of California, San Diego for my undergraduate career (receiving my Bachelors in Education Sciences) and the University of Washington College of Education for my graduate career (receiving my Master in Education with specialization in Learning Sciences and Human Development). Teaching and educational practices and pathways of different varieties have allowed me to assist and help as many students as possible. Education and learning have always been a comfort for me and a space of belonging. These qualities are those that I hope to bring to my students. In my free time, you will find me in the gym enjoying lifting weights or relaxing in a calming space with a good book by Rick Riordan (huge Percy Jackson fan). I am a lover and enjoyed of just about any type of music and love to find different methods of engaging with music. I also thoroughly love finding hidden gems in my city of residence (Seattle,WA). I love Seattle (having lived here for almost three years now) because there are always amazing things happening and there is so much to explore. We have beaches and in close proximity to amazing hiking locations as well as a thriving downtown scene. Being here has allowed me to come into my own experience as both a learner and a teacher!

That's will help students get the big picture before diving into the ocean!, I like teaching by examples or what's called problem-based teaching because it is the way by which all the scholars have got the knowledge we are studying now, and it is the right way by which to discover new knowledge. I am a professional in tutoring Math in general from basic level to Calculus and Linear Algebra, Statistics and Biostatistics. Previously, I worked as an adjunct professor of Biostatistics at Kean University, NJ, and as a tutor at Mathnasium Math learning Center in Guilford and Woodbridge, CT. My background includes a BA in Laboratory Medicine, and a Masters in Math, Statistics and Biostatistics. I love teaching and helping people achieve their goals. I tutor students of all ages from primary school to college and after, and I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me anytime!, and would love to help you!

I'm an experienced, credentialed teacher who has a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in English. In my career, I have had success helping a wide variety of students achieve their academic goals in various subjects. And this, sometimes required more than just explaining the subject matter. Oftentimes, I would identify other issues, such as excessive nervousness, that prevented the student from succeeding, and I would help the student overcome these issues. I have a passion for helping students as a whole person in addition to helping them with the academic subject. I recently moved to the Las Vegas area, and I will be teaching 6th grade math. Although, my background is primarily in English, I found that I really enjoy teaching math, so I decided to make the switch... although, I still enjoy both. I build strong connections with my students and if you want to see my personality, I encourage you to connect with me before you sign up for sessions. Thank you for reading, and I hope to hear from you!
